So It Goes

Life has been gloriously busy and full.

Henry

- Feb. 3rd, Henry took his first steps and has been running strong ever since

- Since it's sugar season he has spent time on the tractor with Grandpa and kept a firm grip on the gear shift and steering wheel. He only complained twice while on the tractor; once because Grandpa turned it off, and once because it was time to go home.

- Henry has started a new habit of taking his clothes off during nap time. Pants and socks have been the main culprits so far.

- My little man surprised me with how much he enjoyed the park! He would go down the slide all by himself giggling the entire way. When I put him in the swing he ooooohed and ahhhhed and belly laughed. He also cried when it was time to go. We're going to make the park a regular part of our routine.

- Henry has been saying a lot of words lately. The following is a list of one we recognize but he frequently repeats us and says other words very clearly! Quack, Duck, Mama, Dada, vroom (for anything with wheels), Jack (the dog), and he's working on Grandma and Grandpa (hasn't got Oma or Pake yet).

Cory

- Just finished up another course and is now a Level 3 CGA! I am so proud of him!

- Is healthy and happy. Although, we're praying (and searching) for a new job. As thankful as we are that he has work right now, he has a pretty stressful job in a trying environment and little opportunity for growth. Despite the recession we're trusting that the Lord will provide another job at the right time.

- Is going to scrape out an hour and a half per week to play ball hockey! I'm very excited for him

Me/Vanessa

- On the creativity front: I have cut the brithday banner and just have to sew it. Also I have joined a block of the month quilting class with my mom and have completed Februarys work. I'll finish March's blocks in the next week or so.

- I am mostly back to a purposeful focus on healthful living - I'm eating no sugar and running/walking with my sister-in-law Kate. Since January I've lost 10 pounds. That's not very fast, but I'm encouraged nonetheless.

- I got a new to me couch!!! This was very exciting for me as I'd been watching http://www.usedottawa.com/ regularly in hopes of finding an Ektorp sofa. I got it for $50 dollars!! Woo Hoo!!

- Super thrifting toys: educo $7, Playmobile farm puzzle $4, Books $1 each including Alphabeasts, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Karen Katz board books, and Once Upon a Potty

______________________________________

I hadn't been posting because I had temporarily lost my battery charger for my camera, and I don't like posting without pictures. I've since found it, and hopefully will post again soon as we have some exciting events coming up: Taffy Party, HENRY'S FIRST BIRTHDAY, Easter, HENRY'S FIRST BIRTHDAY, Opa's Birthday, HENRY'S FIRST BIRTHDAY, etc.

Could some one please tell me where the past year has gone - how is it POSSIBLE that I have a (nearly) one year old?? Whoa.
Have a Great Day!!
