This was written for me. Understanding the guilt and finding the true freedom to be who God called and equipped ME to be.
Here’s one of the hardest truths for Christians to understand, let alone embrace: some of us will do more of a particular good thing than others and some will do less. And the difference may not be sinful.
.....
This is especially tricky because some behaviors are commanded of everyone in Scripture, and yet are also considered special gifts for only some. We should all contribute to the needs of the saints (Rom. 13:13), but some have the gift of generosity (v. 8). We should all serve (v. 11), but some will be particularly gifted in serving (v. 7). We won’t all be as good or zealous about the same things. This is by divine design. Our gifts will differ according to the grace given us (v. 6).
....
And yet, I know the second I think this way I’m also liable to justify disobedience or quench the Spirit’s conviction in some area. There’s no easy answer to this dilemma. I don’t have it all figured out.

I think the key lies in this bit:
"Does that mean I chalk up personal evangelism as “not my gift” and never do it? Of course not. I pray regularly for nonbelievers in my life and pray for opportunities to talk about Christ. But if I hear of someone who shared his faith 20 times in a month and I can only count 1, I try not to necessarily conclude that I’m failure as a Christian." ~DeYoung~
I think we should always be striving to grow stronger in areas we are weak so that we can be available to anyone in all circumstances. If we have been blessed to discover areas of gifting, praise god! But they should not become our box that we are confined to. They are simply the Home we come back to for Joy and refueling when we have been asked to do something we are less comfortable with.
Love you,
Jo
Sometimes it is not words our Lord gives us to reach others, but actions. Words don't always reach everyone sometimes actions are better. Definitely our gifts all differ, Praise Jesus. When we serve Him with a joyful heart no matter what task we have before us, these actions speak just as loud as words. Staying at home with 2 busy little boys says a good deal about how you are trusting the Lord to provide for your family. Many ladies would not have this kind of trust/courage our Lord provides you. You set a beautiful example with your husband, boys, family and friends. Others see this and note how happy you are in the Lord, this says more than words could ever say. I don't believe anyone of us ever has all the answers, that is for when we are in heaven with our Savior, until then we just trust and do the best we can everyday knowing some-days will be better than others, and in all of it there is God's Amazing Grace. Hope you have a wonderful week. Love, Margaret
