Please don't tell my sister, the librarian, how I'm treating the books on my bedside table. I often fall asleep with the light on and the book crumpled beside me. I fold corners of pages and lay them open on a table for long periods of time. If you lend me a book I promise I won't treat it this way. Honest, I won't.I cannot fall asleep without reading a few pages of something. Firstly, on my bedside table is my Reformation Study Bible. I read God's Word in the morning when I nurse Henry and have been reading through Proverbs 31 every night for a good month now.
I have several friends and sisters-in-law who are expecting little ones - I haven't yet made anything from this book, but almost every project is a great one! I may just make a little fleece hoodie for my boy.
My mom lent me her copy of this book. I'm enjoying it - and preparing for what is yet to come!
For easy, light, fiction I'm reading Christmas Carol Kauffmans' "Light from Heaven". I've never read anything by this author and I'm enjoying it so far.

I'm always referring to this book. It definitely doesn't have all the answers, but it's fun to see what to expect the next few months.

Finally, this book was a gift from my parents, shortly after Henry was born. It has the sweetest little songs and rhymes.
What's on your bedside table at the moment?

Oh I want to browse through the baby craft book!
On my night table is Animal Vegetable Miracle, and Little Heathens (a diary about the great depression) but I picked up a new bunch of books at the library yesterday :)
See you soon
Mum
I remember "What To Expect When You're Expecting"! What a great book! I was reading that book nearly 17 years ago, then again 14 years ago. Time sure does fly by!
I can only read one book at a time and whether or not I like it, I have to finish it before I start a new one. With that said I guess I should go find the last book I was reading that I became very bored with and finish it so that I can start on something new....
Lets see, the Message bible, I like to read that before I go to bed, no deep study, just simple paraphrase of God's word. Also, there is always a crochet magazine on there :-)
lol it's okay Nessa, I forgive you.
You know, some of my favourite books are my old tattered dog-eared ones.
They haven't been mistreated, just well used and well loved :D
That baby gifts book is awesome, I /almost/ made Henry those little felt booties a while back.
As for the Kauffman book - She's a great author, but writes very true-to-life, so it's not quite as fluffy and 'happy' as most Christian fiction. Her books can be downright depressing at times, but then again, sometimes life is.
I hope you like that book - I have a bunch here (including that one) if you want more - I can bring 'em down.
I love you and miss you!

I was given that What to Expect in the First Year when I had my first baby. About the only thing that stopped me from chucking it in the garbage was the table at the back with all of the symptoms of the main diseases/illnesses listed. The rest of the book just seemed like a major exercise in making me feel bad because I wasn't doing everything they had listed as 'necessary' for a happy healthy baby.
The baby gift book looks interesting, the shoes on the cover look cute.
And your bedside table looks like mine! I also sometimes fall asleep while reading & my husband has to wiggle the book out from under me & add it to the pile :-)
